The Mary D. Hume is one of the Oregon Coast’s most famous (and accessible) shipwrecks. Located at the mouth of the Rogue River in the town of Gold Beach, The wreck is a popular subject for photos.
These two images were contributed by Brenda S. Loren. The photos were taken by her late husband, Linden Loren, when they lived in Gold Beach in the late 1980s. The top photo shows the wreck during a rare coastal snowfall. The bottom shows the same view at sunset. Our thanks to Brenda for letting us share the photos on the Oceanscape Network.
