The Get Wild Series presents three ways to learn about birds on the Oregon coast:

Saturday, April 21, 2018:
Cascades Raptor Center will present “Bring the Wild Alive” at Siuslaw Public Library at 1460 9th Street, Florence, Oregon. The event starts at 10:00 a.m. Come to the library to meet one of the Cascades Raptor Center’s birds in person and learn about birds of prey. The presentation will include displays, information about their life cycles, and more. Free and open to the public.

Saturday, April 21, 2018:
Cascades Raptor Center open house at Siuslaw Public Library at 1460 9th Street, Florence, Oregon. The event starts at 10:45 a.m. Stay after the talk (or show up for this portion only) to see the bird and displays up close and ask questions. This second event might work well for young children who are unable to sit through the earlier formal presentation. Free and open to the public.

Sunday, April 22, 2018:
Vicki Penwell will present “Birdwatching for Beginners” at Siltcoos Recreation Area at 10:00 a.m.. Vicki is the Lead Ranger at Siuslaw National Forest, Central Coast Ranger District. She will lead participants on a fun interactive hike through the Lagoon Loop Trail, providing tips and tricks for successful birdwatching and identification. Bring your binoculars if you have them (we will have a few extras on hand to share for those without). This event is appropriate for all ages. The level half-mile trail is rated as accessible.

This event is free and open to the public, but a Northwest Forest Pass, Oregon Coast Passport, federal recreation pass, or $5 day-use fee is required within the Siltcoos Recreation Area. For more information about passes or parking, call (541) 271-3611.
