- Keystone Species
- A species whose impact on their environment is particularly large and meaningful.
- Kuroshio Current
- This warm ocean current, sometimes known as the Japanese Current, flows northeast from the Philippine Sea past Japan and then toward the coast of North America. Once hitting that continent, the current splits in two with one branch (Alaska Current) heading north and the other (California Current) heading south.
- King Tide
- An informal term use to describe a particularly high tide which occurs several times per year.
